Since the mid-nineties I have developed and maintained many websites for small businesses and individuals wishing to promote themselves online using various SEO methods such as Google Analytics. I use various UI and user experience (UX) methods which guide the designs that I create using tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. On the development side, the tools I use depend on the project, such as frontend and backend development. Common technologies that I use for backend API development are Node.Js and MongoDB. If I am designing a CMS website – Umbraco (Asp.Net, SQL Server and Angular.Js) is my clear choice with its brilliant and intuitive out-of-the-box workflow features and is used by many fortune 500 companies.

Nico Tailored Therapies is a remedial massage therapy company operating in the City of London, UK, where it also provides on-site therapy services at several London based corporations. I set up the limited company, e-commerce, researched and developed the NTT Website, developed video training for staff, implemented an on-line booking system, developed an Access VBA middle-ware application to handle all of the admin and email marketing, designed all of our print media, and managed the payroll.

Responsibilities to manage, train, process and technically administer all email marketing efforts within Fleet Street Publications in line with agreed plans set forth by the Email Marketing Manager, Legal Compliance and the Marketing department. Duties involved monitoring delivery rates and blacklisting via Habeas and other resources; ensuring Feedback Loops are working; working with marketing to develop customer retention strategies; working with marketing to create targeting to different customer segments and increase purchase frequency.

Achievements:

Developed and maintained a healthy IP reputation to ensure email delivery for millions of emails per day.

Developed a SQL Server insight report that determined how much money the company was losing each day due to a sending IP being blocked (due to marketing sending unwanted content). In some cases, the business was losing 150K per day until the problem was rectified.

As technical lead for a division of CMP Information - United Business Media, Global, with approximately 2000 employees worldwide. I was responsible implementing data gather systems for the marketing teams and selecting and rolling out a company-wide email campaign tool (Adestra’s MessageFocus). As part of the rollout I devised expansion strategies and oversaw management of new projects and strategies involving teams of: DBAs, SQL Server developers, Web/ASP Developers, VB Developers and Data Executives.

Achievements:

Implemented company-wide email campaign tool for 2000 employees.

Devised and presented department expansion strategies to management and oversee change management of new projects and strategies that gave marketers direct ability to segment their own data for marketing purposes.

Pre Google Maps era; built (GIS) system datasets from Ordinance Survey maps, AddressInfo maps, and the National Street Gazetteer using Visual Basic, MapInfo, Map Basic and MS Access for M.I.S.S (Millennial Information System for Streetworks) on behalf of Transport for London – one part of a three part solution plan, "to get London moving" (a famous speech by Ken Livingston, former mare of London). This entailed building and testing the accuracy of the datasets both manually and by creating testing queries using Visual Basic & Access.

Achievements:

Successfully rolled out the MISS system to 17 of the 33 boroughs of London which were well received, appreciated, and used.

Psion was the designer and manufacturer of the first mobile handheld computers for commercial and industrial applications using their early version of the Symbian operating system, headquartered in London. As a technical support agent I quickly learned how the devices worked and developed support solutions for co-workers on the support line. Soon after I was hired I was given the responsibility for the Dutch, French and Nordic lines (without any language other than English).

Achievements:

Educated support staff to handle calls with more understanding, clarity and speed.

Was given the responsibility for the Dutch, French and Nordic lines without being able to communicate any language other then English.

Exit 0 was a new business which evolved from Brooklyn North Software Works. My role changed hands when the company divided its products and most of the usual tasks, leaving me to manage hands-on software and web development when necessary as well as email list management, e-commerce, and software support.

Pioneering in internet technology, Brooklyn North Software Works Inc., one of the earliest pioneers in web development technology and creator of the world’s first HTML Editor - HTML Assistant Pro! Brooklyn North Software Works was also the creator of the first ‘responsible’ email Broadcast tool. Brooklyn North was a start-up company which moved from basement to board-room status by making its first 1.8 Million (Profit) within the first 1.5 years in business and was the launch of my internet career.
